Date and place of Birth: 7th of May 1941, Marousi Attiki. Academic Degrees: B.Sc. in Chemistry 1966 (Physical and Mathematical Department of Athens University, Greece). M.Sc. in Chemistry 1972 (School of postgraduate Studies, University of Montreal, Canada). Ph.D. in Chemistry 1975 (School of postgraduate Studies, University of Montreal, Canada).

 

Research Interests

Study of metalloenzymes models such as thiamine, using spectroscopic methods (IR-Raman, Uv-Vis, Multinuclear NMR, Mossbauer, electrochemistry).and crystallography .Metal-based drugs based on Pt(II), Ru(II), Sn(IV).Mechanism of action of antithyroid drugs Interaction of metals with oligonucleotides and DNA Metal-aminoacids or peptides interactions. Biomimetic catalysis.
