Dear Colleagues,
Spine surgery is an evolving field of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery. It requires both deep theoretical knowledge and surgical skills in order to practice spine surgery. This course is designed for senior residents of orthopaedics and neurosurgery and young spine fellows with an interest in developing their expertise in spine surgery.
Participants will develop deep knowledge through expert lectures on anatomy, surgical techniques, indications and contraindications, instrumentation combined with intense practical training on anatomical specimens.
The objective of the course is to gain an understanding oflumbar and sacral fracture management and stabilization of lumbar and spinopelvic region, surgical treatment of degenerative lumbar spine pathology using open and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Attendees will have the opportunity to practice all presented surgical techniques, pedicle screw placement, spinopelvic fixation techniques, lumbar osteotomies, interbody fusion techniques, microdiscectomy and lumbar decompression techniques under microscope magnification under the supervision of spine experts at the laboratory.
